Speaker of the Parliament of Albania Ilir Meta called for boost of parliamentarian relations with Iran.
He made the remarks in a meeting with the Iranian Ambassador to Tirana Gholamhossein Mohammadnia.
Iran is a country with a big civilization and a high historical position, the official added.
He called for boost of parliamentarian relations between Tehran and Tirana.
Ilir referred to the cultural and historical commonalities between Iran and Albania and said the ground is ready for promotion of economic cooperation between the two states.
During the meeting, the Iranian envoy referred to Iran’s active presence in the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Parliamentary Union of the OIC member states (PUIC) and Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) and underlined Iran’s interest to improve parliamentarian relations with other countries.
Mutual cooperation can guarantee both Iran and Albania interests, the envoy added.
