Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said the international community was presently passing through a period of transition which made situation quite fluid giving everyone the chance to turn threats into chances.
Iran’s top diplomat is calling for a political solution to the conflicts in Yemen and Syria, saying that the continuation of violence will only lead to more bloodshed and no one will win the war.
Zarif spoke on Tuesday, the second day of his visit to Lebanon.
Iran is a strong backer of Yemen’s Shiite rebels known as Houthis and also Syrian President Bashar Assad. Saudi Arabia — Iran’s main regional rival — backs the Yemeni government fighting the Houthis and insurgents trying to remove Assad from power.
