Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif discussed regional and international developments with the visiting State Secretary of Sweden Annika Söder here on Monday.
During the meeting, the two officials reviewed ways of expanding bilateral relations in different political and economic areas including banking cooperation and Iran-EU collaboration.
They also discussed a number of international developments such as crisis in Syria and the problem of narcotics transit.
Elsewhere, Sweden has extensive ambitions for a civil society which can improve the conditions for the individual as part and parcel of its democracy. The objective of the policy for religious communities is that support to religious communities is to help create conditions for carrying out active and long-term religious activities.
The objective of the policy for civil society is to improve the conditions for civil society as an integral part of democracy. This is to be done in dialogue with civil society organisations by:
- Developing the opportunities of civil society to help people participate based on commitment and a desire to influence their own lives or society in general;
- Strengthening the opportunities for civil society to contribute to the development of society and welfare as a collective voice and opinion-maker, and with a variety of activities;
- Deepening and spreading knowledge about civil society.
